Eight couples began Monday night’s Halloween episode of “Dancing With the Stars” thanks to last week’s shocker elimination that did not send any of the dancing couples home.
In addition to the ballroom competition, this week DWTS divided the celebrities into freestyle dance teams to collectively add points earned in the group routines to their individual scores. Each team celebrated the end of October with a Halloween theme.
A recap of the dances each couple performed appears below, from the top of the leaderboard to the lowest of the pack, with Amber and Derek and Corbin and Karina tied for first. There weren’t many points separating the DWTS couples, however, with the lowest scores two weeks in a row, it came as a huge surprise that reality TV star Nicole Snooki Polizzi and dance partner Sasha Farber left the “Dancing With the Stars” competition.
Team #SpookyBomBom was comprised of Bill and Emma, Snooki and Sasha, Elizabeth and Val, and Leah and Tony, who all danced the freestyle allure of the zombie to “Bom Bom” by Sam and the Womp. Each team member earned an additional 27 points.
Team #FoxingAwesome included Amber and Derek, Corbin and Karina, Brant and Peta and Jack and Cheryl. The group also danced freestyle, dressed of course as foxes, to the Internet sensation, “What Does the Fox Say?” and scored a perfect 30.
The team dance moved two couples, Brant and Peta and Jack and Cheryl, up two slots.
- Amber and Derek Paso Doble: 29 + 30 (Team Dance) 59
- Corbin and Karina Cha Cha Cha: 29 + 30 (Team Dance) 59
- Brant and Peta Jive: 27 + 30 (Team Dance) 57
- Jack and Cheryl Jive: 27 + 30 (Team Dance) 57
- Elizabeth and Val (scored the first 30 of the DWTS season 17) Quickstep: 27 + 27 (Team Dance) 54
- Snooki and Sasha Samba: 27 + 27 (Team Dance) 54
- Leah and Tony Salsa: 26 + 27 (Team Dance) 53
- Bill and Emma Quickstep: 23 + 27 (Team Dance) 50
Sadly, Snooki was sent home and it was quite clear she worked extremely hard, had improved tremendously and battled the travel between both coasts while caring for her baby. The iconic Cher will perform and tend the paddles as guest judge next Monday on “Dancing With the Stars”.
