Copper Mountain will open for the ski season this Friday, Nov. 1. Copper will open with the American Eagle lift on Friday and there’s a chance to win in the resort’s Loot Lift all weekend long, Nov. 1-3.
We’re not exactly sure what the Loot Lift is, and we don’t know what the prizes are (Copper says they’re “big”). What we do know is that Loot Lift is based on Cash Cab and you’ll have a chance to win based on your knowledge of Copper Mountain. So all we can say is look sharp and bone up on your Copper trivia if you head up there this weekend.
And just so we’re thorough here, Copper Mountain also released its November schedule of events beyond opening weekend.
The following Friday, Nov. 8, Copper Mountain kicks off the U.S. Ski Team’s road to Sochi at the Believe in U.S. Pep Rally. The full team of Olympic hopefuls – including Ted Ligety, Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin – will be introduced during the Nature Valley First Tracks Alpine Team Naming.
The free full-day pep rally provides a “sneak peek” at the U.S. Ski Team training, and includes a fan-led parade and official naming ceremony, followed by an athlete autograph session and headlining band The Swon Brothers, who were recent finalists on NBC’s The Voice, in Burning Stones Plaza, located in Center Village. And, you can win VIP access through Copper Mountain’s Facebook page.
Plus, you can save 33 percent on lodging if you visit during the U.S. Ski Team First Tracks Event. Oh… And if you have a season pass already from another ski area, show your pass at the window for a $39 lift ticket.
Copper Mountain Colorado Days follow Nov. 16-17, focusing on all things homegrown in Colorado, including locally-made skis and snowboards (with demos), a Colorado craft beer garden and local bands, who will battle it out, winner takes all, for a chance to play at Copper’s Sunsation Festival later this spring.
Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 29-30, is also Woodward Remix Weekend, unveiling the big remodel at The Woodward at Copper Barn. Woodward Remix Weekend includes free intro and drop in sessions for all guests, all weekend long.
The U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding teams, pro-BMX rider Anthony Napolitan, X Games Gold medalist Zack Warden, and Red Bull’s pro skateboarders Tom Schaar and Curren Caples will be on hand for demos and meet-and-greets. Plus, the Annual GoPro Yam Jam will take place at Woodward at Copper’s progressive rails on Friday, Nov. 29.
