Caught a nice 1968-s nickel. It was a proof coin, someone put it in general circulation. Sad, cause that destroyed much of its collector value. But a catch is a catch. 3,041,506 minted in San Francisco. Worth 40 cents to a dollar depending on condition. Mine is closer to the forty cents. I got it for a nickel, so I am ahead.
What looked like a quarter was a Mexican 20 Centavos coin. They made 49,892,000. Coin is worth about fifty cents. It has the pyramid of the sun on one side, called Teotihuacan. Eagle biting a snake on the other. Nice coin, cost me a quarter. Is a 1971 coin, 28.50 mm and weighs 10.04 grams.
Check your 2013 lincoln cent catches. There was an error in the minting. Double strikes of the 3, or D, or 1. 317,600,000 minted so far this year. The 3 cents I caught were okay, no error strike for me. But check each one you find, there could be a nice treat for you.
Caught two dozen dimes this year, but none worth a lot. Put the last 5 catches together to show. 2006-p 1,381,000,000. 1999-d 1,397,750,000. 2011-d 754,000,000. 2003-d 986,500,000. Look for 2009 p and d. very few made, demand for dimes was way down. 96,500,000 for P, and 49,500,000 for D. Also look for 1996-w put out only in the mint set. 1,457,000 made. The champ is the 1955 dime, only 12,450,181.
