This week sees the Brooklyn Brewery Mash, a weeklong experience in Food, Film, Music, Books & Beer, brought to us by one of our favorite things about Brooklyn, after “Welcome Back Kotter.” Check the link in this graf for more events than I had room for here.

7:00 pm ♦ Brooklyn Invasion at The Green Lady
The Green Lady, 3328 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago (773) 525-5571
Every four months or so (if things are running on schedule) Garrett and the boys emerge from the Brooklyn brewhouse with a brand new beer. We count these one-time only creations under the banner of Brewmaster’s Reserve. BMR’s are here and then gone forever, so we are featuring 2 on draught, along with 3 other draught and 1 bottle to boot! Chris Kolodzieg will be here spinning artists that hail from New York’s favorite borough.
We have a limited number of glasses for you to take home with the purchase of a Brooklyn beer.

11:00 am ♦ Upland Sours Release Lottery
Online, through Upland Brewing Co., 350 W. 11th St., Bloomington, IN
Note: Times below for this event are in Eastern Time!
On October 1, Upland Brewing Company will open an online lottery for the release of three of its renowned sour ales: Kiwi, Strawberry, and Blackberry fruited Lambic-style ales. Due to labor intensiveness, a long brewing process, and the seasonal availability of local fruit, these ales are released infrequently and in limited quantities. Consequently, lottery requests will be restricted to one bottle per person.
The lottery, at UplandSours.eventbrite.com, will open at noon EDT on Tuesday October 1st and close at noon October 8th. Preferred pick-up location must be specified at the time of entry; both the Brew Pub in Bloomington and the Indianapolis Tasting Room are options.
Lottery winners will be notified via email on October 9th and will have the opportunity to purchase the sour ale they selected at their preferred location from October 22nd through November 5th. After the two-week reservation pick-up period, any remaining sour ales will be sold first come first served.
5:00 – 7:00 pm ♦ Brooklyn Brewery Mash HQ at Headquarters Beercade
Headquarters Beercade, 950 W. Wolfram, Chicago (773) 665-5660
To get The Brooklyn Brewery Mash on in Chicago we’re celebrating one of our favorite American past times, the arcade. Check out our beer programming at Headquarters Beercade each night during Happy Hour:
Beer & Cheese: Headquarters Beercade will be pouring specials and rarities all week, but tonight Brooklyn Brewery House Chef Andrew Gerson will be there to inspire some funky pairings with a Cheese tasting to delight the senses.
Brooklyn Cask Off: Get ready to taste some real ale by the largest producer of cask beer in the U.S., Brooklyn Brewery. We’ve never done the work to prove if that’s true or not but why don’t you come by and see how we do it the old English way. Types are TBA.
Brooklyn Pint Night: It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this! While supplies last we’re giving out a mixer glass for every hero that orders a Brooklyn beer. I can’t play the fanfare music from Legend of Zelda but you can think to yourself, “You got a pint glass! Use it to store all kinds of things!”
Brooklyn Rarities and B-sides: Garrett & the boys are always up to something down in the brewhouse. Oftentimes, they’re bottling small batch, not-for-public specialties. From bourbon barrels to Brett, these Brooklyn B-sides always have a tasty twist that makes them hard to forget (not to mention hard to get). Because they number in such small quantity, we don’t sell these bottles to the public. Show up on this night, however, and we’ll lead you through tastings of some of our favorites. Show up early and thirsty.
