Brian’s exclusive forecast for Annapolis: Morning fog and mist giving way to a mostly cloudy sky with a high in the upper 60s to lower 70s. South winds around 10. Mostly cloudy with rain showers tonight; breezy at times with a low around 55. South winds 10 to 15 with higher gusts. Breezy and mild on Friday with occasional rain showers, mainly in the morning. The high will be around 70, but then fall during the afternoon hours. The outlook for the upcoming weekend calls for a mostly sunny sky and cooler temperatures with lows in the 40s and highs in the mid 60s on Saturday and mid 50s on Sunday.
Temperatures on this last day of October are rather mild with late-morning readings in the lower 60s. The sky is mostly cloudy at 11 a.m. with areas of fog. We will see some breaks in the clouds this afternoon, but the sky will remain mostly cloudy. Any precipitation should hold off until later this evening. A warm front is located to our north this morning and a storm system in the Great Lakes is dragging a cold front through the Ohio Valley. Warm air ahead of the front will allow temperatures today and Friday to reach near 70 degrees. Southerly winds may be gusty at times this afternoon through Friday morning. The front will move from west to east across the bay on Friday. Showers and possible thunderstorms are expected from Thursday night through early Friday afternoon. High pressure builds over the bay region this weekend along with much cooler and drier air. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid 60s, but highs on Sunday will only be in the mid 50s.
On the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Friday afternoon. Winds today will come out of the south at 10 to 20 knots with gusts over 25 knots and waves from 1 to 3 feet. Winds tonight will come out of the south/southwest at 10 to 20 knots with gusts over 25 knots and waves from 1 to 3 feet. Winds on Friday will come out of the southwest at 10 to 20 knots with gusts over 30 knots and waves from 1 to 4 feet. Visibilities may be reduced today through Friday due to fog and rain showers. Thundershowers are possible at times on Friday. Boaters should always stay tuned to the latest forecasts and advisories from the National Weather Service.
