Last week, I had the pleasure of enjoying a staycation in the Scholar Room of the Carrollton Inn. This is a spacious room on the second floor with a breathtaking historical courtyard view. I literally, sat at a circular tea table and enjoyed a traditional view of historic Jonestown in Baltimore. Try to imagine reading a good book or just conversing over a hot beverage while, visually enjoying a floral colorful courtyard. The king-sized, four-poster bed in The Scholar room is so huge; it actually gave a blow to my ego. I felt so royal in a bed that massively high from the floor. The marble fireplace was so romantic just imagine viewing the moonlight and a fireplace flame simultaneously. Talk about a Kodak moment perfect for any romantic Fall or Winter night. The room also contained snack amenities such as hot tea and coffee, microwave popcorn packages, soft drink beverages and bottled water. There was also a traditional writing desk full of concierge services and historic books for reading. The bathroom was so spacious with multiple mirrors including his & heir double vanity bathing sinks and a double whirlpool tub. The tub is jet powered and so soothing. It also contains a separate see-though glass shower. Trust me when I tell you this room was amazing, I have seen celebrities’ homes less appealing. Who would have known right? Basically, a home away from home for those already living a luxurious lifestyle. But, for the averaged ‘nickel and dimed’ like myself it’s just a taste of the good life.
Now, for the yummy details about breakfast served at the Carrollton Inn. There was a food checklist menu placed on a door of my room. It contained all the food selections for a healthy delicious and traditional breakfast. The menu also gaves me the option for breakfast in bed, first floor dining room and courtyard dining. I opted for breakfast in bed with a personalized wake-up time of service. The breakfast was more delicious than, I expected. The meal tasted so homemade and fresh. Talk about a perfectly homemade omelet and pancakes, fresh fruit and hot coffee.
