It is well-established that arts-inclusion is among the building blocks for success in a young person’s life.
YOUNG AUDIENCES OF ROCHESTER asks you invest in a foundation, a strong structure, a lasting base upon which to build skills and competencies that will last a lifetime. Instead of asking for support to build a new structure that houses an academic program or a place where people work or meet, we are asking you to invest in human capital. We ask you to help us build a creative child using the arts. YA’s future depends on contributed and earned income, like many non profit arts organizations.
In addition, collaboration is essential to BUILD YOUNG AUDIENCES AND BEYOND – and ensures a sustainable environment to develop and expand our arts enrichment experiences to the broadest and most diverse constituency possible. To fulfill our mission to bring quality arts learning and literacy to children and youth from cradle to college/careers by taking experiences to them, we need to unite an expansive network of like-minded advocates and funders; and providers of arts and learning experiences, in order that our full programmatic reach is realized.
For over 50 years, YOUNG AUDIENCES OF ROCHESTER, the largest, most comprehensive multi-modal non-profit arts learning organization in Upstate New York, has been your premier resource and provider of award-winning, innovative and high quality arts learning experiences in the Greater Rochester region.
Our goal is to place creativity at the core of teaching and learning. Young Audiences connects artists with a broad range of instructional venues from schools and educational sites to cultural organizations, recreation and day care centers. Our quest is simple: bring quality arts learning and literacy to children and youth from cradle to college/careers by taking experiences to them. We work with over 160 renowned teaching artists in all arts disciplines whose passion is to expose young people to the arts to encourage self-expression, develop creative and critical thinking skills, pursue curiosity and expand their understanding of the world around them.
We are one of 31 self-supporting affiliates of the national Young Audiences, Inc. network, an organizational framework uniting like-minded advocates and providers of arts and learning experiences across the country. We are the catalyst and connection to practicing, professional teaching artists that deliver artistically excellent, academically relevant and educationally effective programs. Our full programmatic reach extends to 19 NYS counties, three of which are actively engaged in arts education programming. We have the capability and the desire to expand to our full capacity to provide more children and youth with access to arts experiences to further their learning and expand their potential, both in and out of school.
