Forecast discussion: High pressure over New Hampshire at the moment gave Boston a nice day of sunshine mixed with some fair weather clouds. Over the next few days, a warming trend will begin, but it will change the overall weather, making it a little bit wet.
The high will keep us dry this evening. However, we will begin to bring more moisture into our atmosphere. This will first help raise our temperatures this evening, as it increases into the upper 30’s during the overnight. We will see mostly cloudy skies during Wednesday, as a warm front slowly works its way towards the Mid-Atlantic. A quick disturbance will pass through the region, and it could help create a widely isolated shower during the mid-morning into the early afternoon. However, it will be out to sea, and skies will clear. It will be great fall weather for Game 6 at Fenway Park Wednesday night.
As we move into Thursday, the warm front will begin to work into Southern New England. The front may help create some showers in the early afternoon. But, as our young ghosts and ghouls head to everyone’s doors, the precipitation may become heavier. However, the kids will not need their winter coats over their costumes, as temperatures will be in the upper 50’s. The precipitation will become heavier, as the associated cold front passes through Friday morning. The precipitation will weaken to showers by the afternoon, before the front moves offshore in the evening.
As we head into the weekend, we will still see mostly cloudy skies, as there is a weak disturbance behind the front. We may still see an isolated shower through the day and into the early nighttime hours. Eventually, high pressure ridging will push the system out into the Atlantic, setting up for a sunny day on Sunday, but we will return to autumn temperatures for the rest of the forecast period.
