The Walt Disney World Resort has been testing the new MyMagic+ system which includes FastPass+. FastPass+ allows guests to select attractions and entertainment before leaving home. Each day guests will select a park and make three FastPasses selections.
With the launch of this new technology and ability to choose FastPasses well in advances, the question “Which FastPasses do I choose?” becomes very important. Here is a list of attractions with the longest wait times to choose as FastPass+ selections.
Toy Story Midway Mania
This attraction, located in Pixar Place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, always has a very long wait. FastPasses for this attraction go quickly and often the wait is 90 minutes or more. It’s one of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World due to its fun, interactive elements. If you are wanting to ride this attraction it will need to be your number one priority for getting a FastPass.
Design your own virtual Chevrolet and take it for a test drive. You’ll see how your car compares with the other five people in your vehicle on capability, responsiveness, efficiency and power. Your car will hit speeds up to 65 mph so there is the height restriction of 40 inches or taller. This trilling ride has a long time from the time the park opens until it closes so make sure to add this to the top of your list of Epcot attractions if it’s a must-do.
Located in The Land pavilion at Epcot, Soarin’ takes you on a journey across the state of California with view of mountains, cities, beaches, orange groves and even Disneyland Park. Just like Test Track, it’s an extremely popular attraction that has a long line the entire day. This hang-gliding style attraction lifts you off the ground so there is a height restriction of 40 inches or taller.
At Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain takes you through space on a thrilling coaster ride in the dark. This roller coaster typically has long waits of 45 minutes or longer. The roller coaster has a height restriction of 44 inches. If you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll want to make sure that this is on your list of FastPasses to get.
In Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kilimanjaro Safaris gives you and up-close look at animals in the wild. They aren’t caged so the safari jeep will not stop if you drop something. Some animals that can be found here are lions, giraffes, ostriches, elephants and okapis. Typically the wait for the safari is 45 minutes or longer so it’s definitely one to choose for your FastPass+ attractions.
You may get wet or even soaked on this Magic Kingdom attraction. Join Br’er Rabbit and his friends as he tries to outsmart Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox on this log-flume ride. This attraction is a family favorite and lines can get very long, especially in the hot summer months. There is a five-story drop so there is a height restriction of 40 inches or taller.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Take a super-stretch limo to an Aerosmith concert while passing Los Angeles landmarks. This trilling, in the dark roller coaster hits 60 mph and does a corkscrew. In order to ride, you must be 48 inches or taller. It’s one of the most thrilling rides that Walt Disney World has to offer and the wait time is rarely less than 40 minutes.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
This Magic Kingdom railroad is “the wildest ride in the wilderness”. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a rollercoaster-style train ride with speed and drops requires guest to be at least 40 inches or taller to ride. It’s located next to Splash Mountain so consider getting your FastPasses with back to back times.
Take a train ride through the Himalayan Mountains in search of the Yeti. This high-speed coaster goes forwards, back and drops 80 feet. Guests must be 44 inches or taller to ride this thrilling adventure. It’s the most thrilling ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom so the lines get very long.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Based on the television series, this story takes place at a deserted Hollywood hotel. You’ll take a service elevator up and plummet several stories repeatedly. Every time the ride is different so you never know what will happen next. Due to the drops, guest must be 40 inches or taller to ride. It’s very popular due to its theming and thrill so lines can get very long. When choosing your FastPass time consider having it back to back with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster since the two attractions are located next to each other.
