Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock (both Fiddler on the Roof fame) composed the unforgettable songs that take the audience on a journey back to the golden age of theater. Considered by many to be the perfect romantic comedy, “She Loves Me” is the story of Georg and Amalia. They are two feuding clerks at the same European Parfumerie who fall in love with their pen pals not realizing that they are in fact writing to each other.
The New York Times called “She Loves Me” a “continuously melodic evening of sheer enchantment and complete escape.”
“If there is a musical that anyone should be in love with, this is the musical,” commented Director Scott Spence, “I have had a long-time love affair with this show and am thrilled to finally have a chance to share it with Northeast Ohio audiences.”
With musical direction by Larry Goodpaster and choreography by Martín Céspedes, the talented cast includes Equity actors Rebecca Pitcher as Amalia, Jamie Koeth as Georg, and Matthew Wright as Maraczek. Beck Center is very pleased to have Ms. Pitcher star in this production after appearing on Broadway as Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera.
