Bass Pro Shops 59th store will open in Tallahassee, Florida. Grand opening festivities include special exhibits, store-wide savings and giveaways. Customers can visit with experts on fishing, hunting, camping, boating and more and talk with factory representatives to get the latest information on new products.
The grand opening celebration will be preceded by a special Evening for Conservation event Wednesday, Sept. 4 that is free and open to the public. Area conservation groups partnering with Bass Pro Shops will set up display booths to educate customers on their efforts and projects. A portion of the night’s sales will benefit the Wildlife Foundation of Florida, which works closely with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to ensure the preservation and protection of Florida’s fish and wildlife resources.
“The people of our company believe very strongly that the future of our industry, the sports we serve, and the sports we personally enjoy are absolutely more dependent upon how we manage our natural resources than anything else,” said Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “It is far more important than any catalog we mail, any new store we open, or any new product our vendor creates.”
Known for providing a fun outdoor experience indoors, a typical Bass Pro Shops retail store features more than 3,500 antiques and artifacts, up to 400 trophy fish and wildlife mounts, and many murals depicting local scenes.
The celebration begins Thursday, Sept. 5 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 8. The store will open at 8 a.m. Thursday and at 9 a.m. (normal opening hours) Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. The new Bass Pro Shops Outpost is located at 4059 Lagniappe Way in the Fallschase develpment.
The first 200 customers each day of the grand opening event will receive a coupon for a gift with purchase. Thursday, Sept. 5 they will get a Bass Pro Shops gift card in a Bass Pro Shops logo tin with values ranging from $5 to $100; Friday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 8, the first 200 customers will receive a Bass Pro Shops commemorative limited edition lure, and Saturday, Sept. 7 they will receive a commemorative Tallahassee Bass Pro Shops bag. In addition, visitors can register to win a $50, $100 or a $200 gift card to be given away after the event.
Free Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Skills Workshops will be offered on a regular basis and will include topics such as outdoor cooking, nature photography, fly fishing, camping, archery and more. Bass Pro Shops is widely recognized for their efforts in conservation and outdoor education.
