Q: What’s inside the mind of a non-fiction, humor and self-improvement author?
A: Life is hard and it isn’t always fair. Sometimes it’s downright INSANE! I have experienced some of life’s worst blows and for years I struggled and lived a dark, depressing, miserable and reckless existence as a result. Eventually, I figured out why I was struggling so much, changed my way of thinking and reinvented myself into a strong, happy and positive person who strives to achieve awesomeness.
Now, my mission as a person, a parent, a cartoonist, an author and an entrepreneur is to encourage and inspire others to embrace the insanity, focus on the positive, recognize the blessings and find the humor in life. I feel compelled and obligated to share my “expertise” and help others live their life to the fullest!
Q: Why do you write?
A: I write because I love to write and I am passionate about the things I write about. I am confident when I write. Much more confident than when I’m speaking! ;)
Q: How picky are you with language?
A: I’m not. I have fun with it and I will even create my own lingo sometimes. ;)
Q: When you write, do you sometimes feel as though you were being manipulated from afar?
A: I write from my own mind, heart and soul.
Q: What is your worst time as a writer?
A: When I over think and second guess what I have written. Let’s just say that I am grateful for the “undo” and “redo” buttons!
Q: Your best?
A: When I receive messages from readers thanking me for sharing my talents and my sense of humor! Also when I received amazing and awesome advanced reviews! I was thrilled!
Q: Is there anything that would stop you from writing?
A: Death, perhaps.
Q: What’s the happiest moment you’ve lived as an author?
A: Finding out that I was a bestselling author 3 days before my release day! Oh me, oh my! I thought my publisher was joking with me.
Q: Is writing an obsession to you?
A: I am obsessed with making people laugh and encouraging people to focus on the positive, recognize the blessings and find the humor in life! When I discovered I could accomplish this and reach millions through the power of social media, that’s when writing and illustrating about it all became a passion and an obligation. They are the main ways that I contribute to this world in a positive way and I am truly grateful for the ability. I may not be able to change the entire world, but I will die trying.
Q: Are the stories you create connected with you in some way?
A: All of my stories are based on my real life thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Q: Ray Bradbury once said, “You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you.” Do you agree?
A: I say “Stay high on AWESOMENESS so reality cannot destroy you.”
