Tonight’s “Amish Mafia” continues to give fans more insight into the Amish community. Levi arrives in the town of Paradise with Jolin. He introduces Jolin as his guy who will now be handling Paradise. As the map of Lancaster County is shown, Jolin tells that it is the only county where you can start in Blue Ball, then go through Intercourse and wind up in Paradise in less than twenty minutes. Jolin knows that the people in Paradise are “a little different” than in the other towns, but for Levi to relinquish this town is a big step for him. As they continue the introductions, Levi states that he usually will not send a Mennonite to run Amish Aid, but he cleared up the construction problem and Levi is making good on his word. As they drive away, Levi tells Jolin to be careful in Paradise, because he heard that the devil is around.
As John goes to get Freeman from jail, he relates that he was brought there for a charge in 2008. When John returned with Freeman, Esther was visibly surprised. She said that people in town were talking and he and John have to stop what they are doing.
A woman came to visit Levi about a man who sits in her diner drinking coffee all day and just stares at her. He is scaring away her customers. He will have Jolin to take care of this Paradise problem.
Merlin tells that God gave him a vision about Levi’s maple syrup business, but He also gave him a vision of Alan Beiler, who joined forces with him against Levi. Alan is the hut party king, and now he is going to make money for him, not Levi, but right under his nose. Alan was skeptical at first, but knowing they can work together against their enemy, was enough reason for the merger. Merlin invested plenty of money in the operation, and by the looks of it, nobody will want to attend Levi’s parties any longer.
A couple came to Levi because their daughter came home all hyped up on mushrooms. Levi has to find out where they are coming from. He told them to give her a lot of water and make sure she sits down until she snaps out of it. He told them where she was and believes the person is growing them for sale.
That night after 9 p.m., a hut party was going on and the place was packed with teenagers. Alan had alcohol and both Amish and English kids. Esther recalled that some girls go from hut party to hut party and are referred to as hut sluts. With a cover charge of $100 or more, there are plenty of whores there who will be with Amish men. Undercover at the party, was Jolin who heard about the party and wanted to check it out. He saw people doing pills and sucking nitrous oxide. Jolin cannot believe that Alan and Merlin are working together in their territory. Hut parties are supposed to be a safe place for kids to have fun, not just about making money. Jolin called Levi.
Sitting in his car outside the hut party, were Levi and Jolin observing the entire thing. Levi was appalled. Jolin has a solution for this with skunk scent in the ventilation system, nobody will be suspect, except a skunk. Ten minutes later, he returned to the car barely ahead of the stampede exiting the party.
Levi, Alvin and Caleb went to visit the mushroom source. Alvin ate one to make sure they were the ones and prove that Levi could trust him. In a short time, Alvin was dizzy and tripping on the mushrooms. Levi was grateful that he did this, but Caleb would not eat them.
Jolin was on his way to the diner; his first job in Paradise. It was Freeman, spooking the people and scaring them away. It is well-known story that he is possessed by the devil and Amish believe they will also be possessed if they are near him.
At the scene of the hut party, the owners of the hut they rented were shocked at the bottles and trash that was left behind, but the smell was horrendous. Now the money Alan made will have to go to fix the place and remove the smell. Merlin knows that the devil is giving Levi the upper hand in this case; because only one person could have done this.
Caleb and Alvin took baking soda and spread it around the mushrooms, ensuring they demise and to remove any further growing.
As Jolin went around doing his collections, he told everyone that if they saw Freeman, John or Esther to let him know. When Jolin met with Levi, he told him that it was Freeman in the diner and it is near Esther’s quilt place in Paradise. Levi told him to see her and make her pay protection. She is the last person he wants to see, but this is his territory now. Esther has never paid Amish Aid before, and Jolin believes it is weird that Levi wants him to collect from her.
Esther tells the cameras that Freeman was shunned and banished from the community for pulling a knife on their parents. Her parents do not want anything to do with him, but John insisted that Freeman comes to stay with them. Esther knows that something set Freeman off, because he has been acting stranger and stranger.
In Ohio, Merlin went home to pray for guidance and take care of his community. A man came to Merlin because he hurt his back and cannot work. He went to a chiropractor, but he is worse now than before. Amish do not use painkillers, but use chiropractors who do not violate church law. Now he is seeking help from Amish Aid. Merlin reveals that this has led to instances of fraudulence in the community. The man believes that the chiropractor is bogus, and Merlin will take care of this.
A church elder woman who is an old friend of the family came to see Esther. She told her the community was praying for her. Esther asked if they were praying or talking? Esther admits to using gossip for so long, it was sure to turn against her. The community is worried about Esther’s dad, who used to hold Levi’s position in Lancaster. Levi took over after his death because her brothers were not old enough to take over his position at the time. This woman is still loyal to Esther’s dad and her family. The woman wants Esther to find a good Amish man so she is well-respected in the community.
Alan is trying to make money after the disaster of the hut party and is gambling with Amish people to recoup his losses. It is against the rules to gamble, but Alan takes his chances, he also is taking bets on volleyball games, because Levi cannot be bothered because they don’t generate much income. Alan has resorted to selling dandelion wine, another thing Levi wants no part of. Some of the kids have cars, and their parents do not know. Alan now charges them to keep their cars hidden for them.
Jolin is on his way to see Esther to collect. She was surprised to see him as they faced each other. After a round of banter between them, Esther called Levi and told him she wants to meet and talk to him.
In Ohio, Wayne has been upset at Merlin’s lack of repaying him for having him un-banished. He is doing one last job, taking care of the chiropractor who screwed up a man’s back. He went to his office and busted up the equipment.
In Paradise, there has been a lot of vandalism that Jolin has had to pay to have fixed and he is not happy. Jolin believes that Levi is right and Paradise is cursed. As Jolin went to another property, the place was wrecked, and he will get to the bottom of it. Jolin believes that it is Freeman, the only person stupid enough to do something like this.
Levi is still concerned about the disappearance of Big Steve. He is one of his biggest enforcers and has been missing since his house was trashed. They found him at his house. He said he had to get out of town to protect his family from Alan Beiler who trashed his home. Alan has a chicken business and intends to build up his business and come back stronger.
Levi came to see Esther. He was abrupt and knows the last time he saw her, she was a bitch. Now she is acting nice to him and has him perplexed. She wanted to apologize for her actions in Florida. He told her how she hurt him and wants more than just an apology. Then he told her he still wants his money as he left.
Jolin and Alvin went to send a message to Alan that he will never forget. Jolin said all he cares about are his chickens, and they plan to take care of them. They took the chickens and destroyed the coop.
In response to several inquiries regarding the authentication of the people on the show not being Amish, they proved they were Amish and not actors. Each community has the Book of Fisher, where all descendants of the original Amish are registered in this directory.
A dear friend of Merlin passed away. He went to pay his respects in a barn, where communities sometimes hold their funerals. Then they are placed in a special buggy that is long enough to fit a casket and taken to the cemetery and buried. This person is buried in black if they died in shame and fell away from the church. White is the garb of someone who had not broken any Amish laws, like piercings, tattoos and various other sins. Even the children are held up to see the dead person and learn that they are going to die someday too and must follow the teaching of the church so they do not go to hell.
As the funeral was going on, Wayne decided it was the perfect time for him to demand his money from Merlin. He told him that he is done with him.
When Alan saw his chicken coop destroyed, he knew it was Levi. These memories of Alan’s adopted father were destroyed, and now he will seek his revenge. Levi did this in retaliation for wrecking Big Steve’s house, and now the cycle spins and will continue on the next episode of “Amish Mafia.”
