Trent Richardson has now been in Indianapolis for a week and already it is time for him to show the Colts he is ready for a starring role in their offense. It was announced Friday that Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw is out Sunday. This will be the fourth major injury to the Colts offense this season.
In his first season with the Colts, Bradshaw has already made a positive impact to their offensive strike. This season Bradshaw has rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns for the Colts. He also had a team-high 96 yards rushing against the 49ers.
After the Colts put RB Vick Ballard (knee) on IR in week 2, Bradshaw stepped into the leading role. In week 3 the Colts acquired RB Trent Richardson to help fill the void Ballard left behind. Even after the acquisition of Richardson, Bradshaw led the Colts in rushing in their week 3 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Chuck Pagano announced Friday Bradshaw would be out for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Bradshaw suffered a neck injury in week 3 during the Colts’ victory in San Francisco.
With Bradshaw now out, the Colts running game will rely on Richardson and RB Donald Brown. Richardson had 13 carries for 35 yards and a touchdown for the Colts in San Francisco. Brown has rushed 10 times for 55 yards this season.
