At the 34th annual Germantown Pretzel Festival, one smiling face stands out. Amidst the shea butter booths, the candle sellers and the pretzel vendors, a smiling and enthusiastic little face peers up at passersby. Filled with the joy of life, Dodge greets all visitors and happily poses for the camera. Just one of their dozens of bully breeds awaiting adoption in foster homes, Dodge is a cheerful ambassador for Adopt A Pit Rescue, a Dayton, Ohio area dog rescue specializing in Pit Bulls. Dodge was happy to see both people and other pets at this weekend’s festival event.
Founded in June of this year, Adopt A Pit Rescue aims to rescue, re-home and rehabilitate abused, neglected and discarded ‘bully breed’ dogs. As a breed, these dogs are unfairly discriminated against; Adopt A Pit focuses on educating the public and acting as an advocate for these breeds. The bully breed rescue group wants to ensure that these dogs have a positive future.
You can see Dodge’s handsome face as well as some of the Adopt A Pit Rescue merchandise from their booth at this weekend’s Pretzel Festival in the slideshow. If you can’t make it to the Pretzel Festival today from noon to 6 p.m., you can still make a donation, purchase some merchandise or find out more about adopting or fostering one of America’s ‘nanny’ dogs, by visiting the Adopt A Pit Rescue website or visit them on Facebook or call them up at (937) 701-7487.
