October, in my humble opinion, is the best month of the year, and many of Baltimore’s restaurateurs must agree because there are so many specials and events this month! Check out these 7 things to eat and drink in Baltimore this month.
October 1st is International Sake Day
PABU will kick off Sake Month with International Sake Day with the launch of a month-long Sake Happy Hour featuring complimentary abbreviated Sake 101 classes taught by Tiffany Soto, one of only three female master sake sommeliers in the world, and complimentary sake tastings. PABU will also highlight signature sake cocktails like the Cobra Kai and the Super X as well as offer special pricing on sake by the glass and bottle.
RA Sushi will be offering day-long specials on 10/1, including $1 hot sake, $4 Hakutsuru “draft,” and a $5 sake flight, which includes three 2-oz. sake tastings.
Charm City Cakes hosts Saturday cake-decorating classes
Every Saturday in October at 11:00 a.m., students ages 14 and up will be directed by veteran decorator Mary Smith and will leave with a fully customized 8” cake. Priced at $150 each, the early fall classes include a Rainbow Animal Print class, a Romantic Lace class, and a Minion class, inspired from the movie Despicable Me. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available.
- October 5th – Romantic Lace Class
- October 12th – Minion Cake Class

KIND is partnering with BFFL.com for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
KIND bars are partnering with BFFL (Best Friend for Life) to create Limited Edition Breast BFFLBags®. Each bag purchased goes to a woman in an under-served area recovering from breast cancer surgery. KIND will donate an extra $5 to Friends Fighting Breast Cancer for every BFFL Bag sold!
KIND understands that $100 is a lot for some people, so they are also asking people to write in letters of encouragement for these brave women. For the anonymously donated bags that will be distributed at the end of October, KIND will collect these letters and bind them into a booklet to be included in each of the bags. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
October 26 is Yogi Castle’s Customer Appreciation Day
