When does Daylight Savings Time end and what time should you turn your clock back? Get an extra hour of sleep when Daylight Saving Time (DST) comes to an end on Nov. 3, 2013.
Set the time on your clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 3. If you’re not up in the wee hours of the morning, make sure you change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night.
Many businesses that are open late, like bars, clubs and restaurants, will close at 1:59 a.m. Shutting down a minute before the time changes back to Standard Time helps to dispel the myth that patrons can get in an extra hour of drinking.
Most smartphones, computers and cable boxes automatically adjust to the time change, but you will have to manually change the time on battery operated clocks, watches, and appliances like microwaves and stoves.
If the clock in your car doesn’t adjust automatically when DST ends, you will have to reset it.
Daylight Saving Time is a great time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors.
Your family will safely enjoy that extra hour of sleep you get on Sunday if you remember to do this simple task.
Does everyone in the U.S. observe Daylight Saving Time (DST)?

For those who will be turning their clocks back an hour on November 3, enjoy that extra hour of sleep while you can.
On March 9, 2014 DST will return. Those who live in states that observe the time change will lose an hour of sleep when they set their clocks ahead one hour.
