Over a period of several months it has been noted that concerned citizens who do not wish to trash the Constitution as the final rule of law in the land have launched what some are calling “the Stealth War.”
This war is very different from conventional warfare with violence, mayhem, and the taking of innocent human life. Rather, the Stealth War utilizes an alternative strategy that utilizes the intellect and covert activity that minimizes the risk of massive unrest and death.
Today the U.S. government gave these concerned citizens two horrifying reasons to up the ante and raise the Stealth War to a new level of intensity. It may well be time to turn up the heat.
The first example is a statement by U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, reported by The Hill, who asserted that the Tea Party is every bit as dangerous to America as the Civil War:
“A small group of willful men and women who have a certain ideology about how our country should run and what we should do cannot get their way in a normal discourse and votes,” Harkin said. “Since they can’t get their way, they’re going to create this confusion and discourse and hope the public is so mixed up in who to blame for this that perhaps they’ll blame both sides.”
“That is the path they see for taking over the government. It’s dangerous, very dangerous. … Every bit as dangerous as the break up and the Civil War.”
Perhaps Harkin should take a cold, sobering look at himself and his cohorts in the “progressive” movement. Progressives/collectivists, or as they have been known for 100 years, “liberals,” are well known for attempting to impose an extremist ideology on the country in spite of the fact that they cannot get their way in normal discourse and votes. This they have done by using the courts to create new law without any input or approval from the voters whatsoever and by ramming through unpopular legislation in Congress over the objections of their constituents back home. The Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare and the Obamacare law itself are prime examples, but there are many more.
In short, the progressives have taken over the government, and groups such as the Tea Party are attempting to restore Constitutional law that has been usurped and trashed by career politicians such as Harkin.
Thus, the danger here lies squarely with Harkin and his ilk who not only trash the Constitution but “reinterpret it” to fit with their convoluted ideology that is based on the notion that big government that is intrusive in our daily lives is good, the hard earned money that Americans make belongs to the government and only through the goodness of their hearts are we allowed to keep some of it, and the benevolent and kind Big Brother should be able to spy on all of its citizens without their knowledge and without the proper warrants or approval of the courts.
Danger, Senator? The danger is not with the Tea Party that seeks to protect the rights of ordinary citizens from tyrants like you but with you who sit in the halls of government allowing and giving oversight to the most corrupt and power-hungry administration in the history of the nation. If there is a Civil War, you and your ilk will start it, not us.
The second horrifying example of why the Stealth War needs to be intensified is the continuing “debate” in Congress concerning who has the right to free speech. Yes, you read that right. Our overlords are claiming that not all citizens have that right, although the Constitution does not limit this right in any manner, not even for citizen reporters and bloggers.
The latest skirmish concerning Constitutional rights centers on freedom of the press, one of the four cornerstones of the First Amendment, which protects free speech, freedom of religion, and the freedom to assemble, as well as a free press. Some in Congress wish to define the term “journalist” so that they can subject bloggers, whom they consider not to be real journalists, to lawsuits for reporting facts that are embarrassing to the ruling class. Only “authorized journalists” should have that right, so say the tyrants, and the reason is not far to find. The “authorized journalists” will play along with the ruling class, reporting only their propaganda while slanting stories to portray conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party activists in a negative light.
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is running for reelection in 2014. Here is what Graham blurted out in this debate, which shows beyond all doubt how he really feels about bloggers and citizen reporters who will tell the truth:
“Is there any blogger out there saying anything? Do they deserve First Amendment protections?”
According to Graham, the answer is no. U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., chimed in and said no. So did U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., among others.
Durbin went as far as to tell Chris Wallace of Fox News that bloggers and citizen reporters who write messages on the Internet are not real journalists and therefore should not be protected by the First Amendment right to freedom of the press or free speech, but forced to disclose to government who their sources are or face prison.
But the most outlandish and shocking assertion of all was when Durbin stated in the same interview that the Bill of Rights is outdated and that we need to ask “21st century questions” concerning rights that were delineated by the Framers 200 years ago.
But let’s cut through the bilge and get down to the real issue at hand. The real motivation driving these worthless totalitarian despots is that they are angry that the Internet has given citizens much more power to influence elections and public policy than during any other period in modern times. Much of that influence has placed the power of people like Durbin, Feinstein, Schumer, Pelosi, and other collectivists at great risk. This they cannot allow. So, they wish to shut it down so that only the regime’s Pravda — NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time Magazine, and Newsweek — have the freedom and power to influence the minds and opinions of modern Americans.
This, to be blunt, is an act of war. When politicians claim that unalienable rights, such as free speech, free press, free religious expression, and free assembly are subjected to qualifications and special permissions, then the nation has passed from a free society to a totalitarian one. And the rulers have declared war on ordinary citizens who speak their minds. They want us silenced, for good.
If this is not reason enough to cause citizens to rise up in firm and unrelenting protest, then nothing will. So brush off the dust from your copy of the Stealth War and get busy. We have precious little time to waste to prevent these political monsters from obliterating every protection of our God-given rights that the Constitution mandates. Freedom is at stake.
